Joanna Kucharczyk is an award-winning pianist, composer and singer. She received her Master of Music from Karol Szymanowski Academy and Bachelor of Music at the Fryderyk Chopin Music University in Warsaw, Poland and continued her education at Danish National Academy of Music. Joanna recently received 2nd prize at the prestigious “Translantyk Film Festival” in the Instant Composer Contest in Lodz, Poland. She has performed her music at numerous concerts and festivals in USA, South Korea, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Spain, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia and Czech Republic.

 

As a musical director she has worked with Harlem School Of Arts (US), Education Through Music (US), New York Musical Improv Festival (US), Barcelona Improv Group and BIG Improv School (Spain), Warsaw Comedy Club (Poland), Improv School (Poland), Vocal Group Jazz City Choir (Poland) and The National Puppet Theatre in Warsaw (Poland). As a specialist in her field she has taught numerous master classes throughout Poland, USA, Spain and South Korea.

Joanna has won multiple esteemed jazz singing competitions in Poland, Romania, Estonia, Latvia including  Riga Jazz Fest, Nomme Jazz (3rd prize and “special prize” from the Norwegian Music Academy), Voicingers Festival (2nd prize and "audience prize") and more. 

 

Joanna participated in various jazz workshops and lessons with renowned musicians: Theo Bleckmann, Barry Harris, Marion Cowings, Grzegorz Karnas, Cyrille Aimee, Becca Stevens, Gretchen Parlato, among others.
